SRT® Owner Profile: Kurt Valdez, St. Louis, Missouri
I grew up in a Mopar® family, my dad worked and retired from Chrysler, and Mopar vehicles are all we have ever owned. Personally I have owned a handful of SRTs (some are not badged as "SRT" but are part of the SRT® Heritage) throughout the past decade including: a 2001 Dodge Viper GTS, 2002 Plymouth Prowler, 2004 Dodge Neon SRT4, 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 Coupe, 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 and 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe. If they keep making SRTs, we'll keep buying them.
First Mopar® A 1989 Dodge Dynasty that was a hand-me-down car my parents gave me when I turned 16. I was just happy to have a car, but it was definitely a "grandma" car, in fact my grandparents owned a 1988 Dodge Dynasty.
SRT® Garage My fiancé, Kilannin Krysiak, and I currently own three SRT vehicles: a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 Coupe, 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT4 and a 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 Coupe. The Caliber is her daily driver, the Crossfire is mine, and the Viper is for warm and sunny weekends. I traveled around 10-12 hours roundtrip to buy both the Crossfire and the Viper, luckily we found the Caliber here in St. Louis.
Favorite Stretch of Road There are a few nice, long windy roads just outside of the St. Louis area. When the weather is right we jump in one of the SRTs and cruise for a few hours, it's a great way to get away and relax.
Farthest Traveled to Meet a Fellow Car Enthusiast With the local St. Louis SRT Club we have taken a few road trips to places like Memphis, Tennessee, and Columbus, Ohio, to join other clubs at the SRT and Mopar Nationals events.
Racing or Cruising We have taken our SRTs to the local race track during drag and track racing events. For the most part though we just enjoy cruising around and hanging out with members of the local clubs. The past few years we have attended Monster Mopar here in St. Louis and always enter our cars in the Car Show. Each of our cars usually place in the top-three in their respective classes.
Clubs We are involved in both the St. Louis SRT Club and the Gateway Viper Club. Both clubs have at least an event or two each month throughout the year and are filled with great members who have become some of our best friends. Some club events include cruises, dinners, go-karts, track days and charity events (St. Baldrick's, Make-A-Wish, Toys for Tots).
Badge of loyalty SRT vehicles are all I have ever owned since the SRT division was created. I'm a huge Mopar fan, and enjoy performance cars, so it's a perfect match.
