SRT® Owner Profile: Jerry Lawson, Cypress, Texas
I have always enjoyed performance and buying my first SRT® delivered just that. It gave me the opportunity to drive a car that turns heads, performs and opened up a chance to meet thousands of folks with a similar interest. The Challenger SRT made up my mind to get the Grand Cherokee SRT, and then to buy a Ram sport truck.

SRT® Garage 2008 Challenger SRT and 2010 Grand Cherokee SRT
The Challenger SRT was purchased over the long Labor Day holiday weekend in 2008. My wife Shelly and I were out looking for one, and most dealers were closed. However, we went by a local dealership and were looking in the window when the sales guy, who was in shorts and flip flops, (he was there just catching up on some paperwork) opened the door. We talked for a while and eventually made a deal and went back the next day to pick it up. Later, when we went to buy our Grand Cherokee SRT, we went back to the same salesperson. He went all over the country to find the exact one we wanted. After that, we stayed in communication at least once-a-month for three years until he moved to another state.
Favorite Stretch of Road I like the open roads of Texas, and going on cruises with my SRT friends.
Farthest Traveled to Meet a Fellow Car Enthusiast In Texas, we had an annual event where all modern Mopar® clubs gathered for a weekend, although, it's only a few hours drive. We all caravanned with a large group, and it was pretty exciting. This year we are headed to the Spring Fest of LXs in Irvine, California.
Racing or Cruising We have raced both our Challenger SRT and our Grand Cherokee SRT at the track. Our Challenger SRT won the Top Dawg award at last fall's Lone Star Mopar Fest and our Grand Cherokee SRT won the bracket racing. It was a very exciting weekend for us.
Forums The prime forum I spend time on is Spacecitylx. I also frequent LX forum, Challenger Talk and Cherokee SRT forums. There are many others that I also visit from time-to-time.
Clubs The majority of my time is spent as part of the leadership team of Space City LX Modern Mopar in Houston, Texas. The club is very active with events a number of times a week. Annually, we hold events to help out with our local food bank, Toys for Tots and the Wounded Warriors Project®. Our largest club event is the Lone Star Mopar Fest each October. It brings in folks from all around the country to enjoy a weekend of festivities.
