Weekend Racing Recap: Brad Keselowski stays the course in Michigan.
The phrase “blistering speeds” took on a literal meaning at Michigan International Speedway this weekend. A smooth, newly paved surface at MIS afforded teams the conditions needed to break the 200 mph barrier. However, warm track temperatures played havoc on race tires causing severe tire blistering, forcing NASCAR to make a last-minute change in tire compounds after Friday’s qualifying session.
Despite the setback, Brad Keselowski worked his way through the pack to gain 12 places from where he started the race to retain his 10th place points standing.
