Meet Owner Shannon Awtrey
My dad owned a 1972 Plymouth Barracuda, so I have fond memories of riding around with him in the car. I loved the sound of the motor and the smell of the burning rubber. Whether in town or on a road trip, we loved riding around in our beloved Mopar.
When the new generation Challenger debuted, it caught my eye because it was the closest thing to the Barracuda - I had to have it. You get the classic look with all the modern conveniences. I chose the Green with Envy color scheme because not everyone had it. You don't see many of them in this color, so it was perfect.
First Mopar® - My first Mopar was a 2000 Dodge Ram Sport.
In the garage - I currently own a 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 in Green with Envy. I did a lot of research before deciding exactly what I was going to get - then drove a few hundred miles to pick her up.
Favorite stretch of road - I don't have a favorite road. With this car, any road is a friend of mine. The best part is I get to cruise all around Santa Maria, not feeling 'green with envy'.
Farthest you’ve driven to meet a fellow car enthusiast - After I took the reins of my Challenger SRT8, I traveled about 200 miles to Monterey, California to Laguna Seca for the SRT Track Experience. We had such a great time at the event.
Racing or cruising - I'm more of a cruiser. We mostly travel around the beaches of Pismo and Avila here in California.
Badge of loyalty - I wouldn't trade my Challenger for anything, not even if Chrysler brought back the Barracuda. If they did that, I'd have to own both.
