ALMS.com documents the top-five wins for Viper GTS-R in American Le Mans Series.
Narrowing the Top-Five wins for the Viper GTS-R in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) was no easy task. After all, Team Viper went a perfect six-for-six in the win column for all races attended in 1999 and recorded victories in 10 of 12 races in 2000, and continued to add to their win total in subsequent years.
That didn’t stop the digital team at ALMS from creating a list of the five most significant wins for the track-potent Viper GTS-R with the series, documenting the triumphs in a new video.
Laguna Seca, Mosport, Road Atlanta and Sebring are among the historic circuits that the GTS-R has been victorious at over its years in ALMS action, and each is highlighted in the video.
The Viper GTS-R made its on-track debut in 1996, and has competed across the globe in many of endurance and sports car racing’s biggest events. The past success and knowledge gained on the track through the Viper racing program was instrumental in the development and creation of the brand-new 2013 SRT Viper street car.
The 2013 SRT Viper GTS-R will make its long-awaited return to ALMS racing later this year, as a factory-backed two-car effort, managed by Riley Motorsports of Mooresville, North Carolina. Kuno Witmer, Dominik Farnbacher and Marc Goosens will share the driving duties. Additional drivers will be added to the roster closer to the GTS-R's first ALMS race of the season.
