Vulkan Racing reveals new driver pairings for Assen
Mayen / Wassenach. The Vulkan Racing Mintgen Motorsport team receives support from the United States in the form of Dodge driver Kuno Wittmer (Canada), who will be competing for Mintgen in the penultimate round of the ADAC GT Masters in Assen, Netherlands. Whittmer will start the series by driving the Dodge Viper Competition Coupe GT3. For his part, Kuno Whittmer is looking forward to the competition.
"I'm looking forward to the start at Assen," Whittmer said. "The sight of Michael Mintgen's cars alone in the shop impressed me. They are very well prepared and the team has the right mentality."
The young 29 year old racer from the United States has been successful in many areas of motorsports. Whittmer first gained experience in carts but then quickly moved on to the formula racing series and finally touring cars and GTs. Success is by no means alien to him. Whittmer also had a long and successful career driving a Honda Acura in the U.S., but it was racing the Dodge Viper in the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT that brought him to his current career as a Dodge factory driver. And he knows better than most, when you have a snake, sometimes it bites.
Competing in the penultimate round of the ADAC GT Masters in Assen, Holland, Whitter will partner with Christian Bebion in the blue Dodge Viper Competition Coupe GT3. Heiko Hammel will accompany Michael Christensen (Denmark) in the green Dodge Viper Coupe. Christensen, who will be piloting, impressed the team in his last race with his speed. Sascha Bert continues to focus on the recently announced project with team Gemballa racing.
