Viper Leads Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship

Posted on May 11, 2011

The Dodge Viper GT3 team of Aaron Scott and Craig Wilkins is dominating the Britcar MSA British Endurance Championship, taking three straight class victories to open the season. Their 63 points lead two Porsche GT3's, a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Ferrari F430 GTC and a host of other Ferraris in the overall standings.

Not only are they dominating the races, but the Dodge Viper teammates have a perfect record in Class 2 with three consecutive poles and fastest laps.

"It's been a great start to the new 2011 season in the MSA Britcar British Endurance Championship," said Scott

“The first race meeting at Silverstone was on March 26th and I managed to qualify the GT3 Racing Viper in pole position in Class 2 and score a superb 2nd place overall on the 47 car grid. The car was excellent and it showed just what a great job the team had done with it over the winter.”

"In the race Craig and I were delighted to go on to win our class, finishing 3rd overall and setting the fastest lap of the race. Round 2 took place on the 16th April and once again I secured pole position in class, this time placing the car 3rd overall. During much of the race I was the fastest car on track. We won the class again and finished 5th overall despite having to stop 4 times during the race for fuel!"

Scott and Wilkins came through for their third straight Class 2 win, pole position and fastest lap at the Donington Park four-hour race on May 10 to cement their championship leadership.

"I'm looking forward to the rest of the season and hope we can continue our good form although it won't be easy and we will have to work very hard both on track and in the workshop to keep the pace up," Said Scott

Wilkins and Scott finished third in 2009 with two wins in the British GT series and have scored several additional wins in their Viper Competition Coupe during past seasons.
