Owner Profile: Paul Immo, Washington, DC
Paul Immo's parents met at a Mopar parts counter. "I guess I was born to be a car guy," says this twice-over SRT owner. Today, Paul spends his free time connecting with fellow enthusiasts online and in person, with a focus on philanthropy.
First Mopar 1985 Dodge Lancer ES. My dad was a parts manager, so I was always doing mods. It had a full Mopar body kit with spoiler and an air horn.
SRT garage My first SRT vehicle was a 2006 Dodge Charger SRT8. I now own a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.
Favorite stretch of road Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia.
Farthest traveled to meet a fellow car enthusiast Since I bought my Charger in 2006, I've been to shows up and down the East Coast from Delaware to South Carolina. I also try to plan trips back home to Detroit around car events such as the Woodward Dream Cruise. This year, I flew out to Irvine, California for the LX Spring Fest. I also flew down to see Formula Drift Atlanta with a day trip to the Wellborn Musclecar Museum in Alexander City, Alabama. I have attended the SRT Track Experience in three separate states in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
Racing or cruising I used to race my Charger at Capitol Raceway and Maryland International Raceway. My best time was 12.97 with very few mods and all-season tires. Now, I just cruise my Jeep in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Badge of Loyalty My mancave has been given the nickname "Moparville" by my wife because of my always-growing collection of Mopar gear. Also, I have a 4 month old English Bulldog named Hemi.
Offline clubs I am the founder of DC Modern Mopar. We try to meet at least once a month for brunch. Moparpalooza is our flagship annual event. Last year, over 100 cars -- from Vipers and Neons to two Superbirds -- attended. This year, proceeds from our 50/50 raffle will go to the Fisher House Foundation. We also do work with the MS Society.
