Rainy weekday mornings aren’t usually the best time to hold a car meet -- unless you’re meeting with one of the most dedicated LX-platform enthusiast groups in the country.
The Dallas-Fort Worth LX Club mustered nearly 60 members to greet the new lineup of SRT vehicles, braving rain and midday traffic to grant us the privilege of parking with Dallas’s finest Chargers, Challengers, Magnums and 300s. The Tour crew capped the day with an interview of esteemed DFWLX Club president Pedro Murillo, an honor worth the cross-country trek.
In Houston, the Tour was treated to a five-star reception by Space City LX Club and Allen Samuels Chrysler Dodge Jeep, including a meticulous detailing session for each SRT vehicle. Houston’s biggest Mopar fans assembled in force to celebrate the kickoff of Lone Star Mopar Fest, which ultimately drew over 200 Chrysler enthusiasts together. Drag racing, an autocross event and a special guest appearance by John Hennessey marked the end of the Tour’s layover in Houston. Barbara, Danny, John and Laura wound down the week by taking in the TORC series season finale in the rolling Texas Hill Country.
By the end of the week, the Tour’s deeply interactive Facebook page reached an important milestone. Over one thousand fans now eagerly await updates as the Tour heads onward to the cactus-painted American Southwest.
