American Racer Built For World Dominance

Racing is in our blood and a major part of our DNA. At Street and Racing Technology we have a deep heritage in motorsports and strive to build on that each and every time we take to the track. While contending for wins is always the main goal, showcasing the SRT® Viper on the race track — its true home — is just as important. Everything that we learned during the development of the 2013 SRT Viper was applied when designing the SRT Viper GTS-R race car. Knowledge currently gleaned from the SRT Viper GTS-R at the race track will subsequently play a role in future development of the production model of the SRT Viper.

American Le Mans Series

With its roots in the legendary 24 Hour of Le Mans, the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) offers world-class sports car and endurance racing in North America, a perfect fit for the SRT® Viper GTS-R. The 10-race ALMS season consists of events held at historic road courses in addition to urban street circuits, with five different classes taking to the track at each event. The SRT Viper GTS-R will compete in the GT class against other production-based two-wheel drive sports cars.

Racing Evolution

Starting with a blank canvas and a very tight timeframe, SRT® designers and engineers set to create a new generation of a world-class race car that exited the sport on top in 2000. In roughly a six-month period beginning in the fall of 2011, the Viper GTS-R took shape and was revealed to the public in April, 2012, at the New York Auto Show, and hit the track later in the summer. The evolution and development continues today.
